News From Cadillac -- Maps and directions on the best way to see the splendid autumn colors in the Cadillac Area.

Color Tour Number 1 - Circle the Lakes - Approximately 20 Miles
News From Cadillac -- Drive on US 131 to Granite Street. Turn right on Granite Street, which turns into Sunnyside Drive. Take this to M-115; turn right onto M-115, after ½ mile turn left on M-55 (west). On this tour, you will travel around both Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell and see the beautifully balanced panorama of woods and water.

Color Tour Number 2 - Mesick Loop - Approximately 63 Miles
News From Cadillac -- Begin by going west on M-55 to 25 Road. Take 25 Road north to Boon Road (34 Road). Turn west on Boon Road and drive through Boon and Harrietta to M-37. For a different pace, stay on 30 Road heading west and take Coates Highway down to the Manistee River or take a stroll down to the waterfall (directions to the waterfall may be picked up at the Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau.) To stay on the designated tour, continue north on M-37 to M-115 in Mesick. Either drive northwest on M-115 to 9 Road and into Glengary
(14 Road)(the Glengary area roads may be rough in wet weather conditions) and back onto M-42 to 15 Road. You may also turn southeast on M-115 and north onto 15 Road. These back roads will lead you through a very colorful route through Meauwataka and back to Cadillac.


Color Tour Number 3 - Approximately 64 Miles
News From Cadillac -- Drive south on 131 to Mackinaw Trail. Turn on Mackinaw Trail and follow it to M-115. Turn east (left) on M-115 and then south on Dighton Road (135th). You may either turn west on 20 Mile Road or continue on Dighton Road to 18 Mile. Turn west onto 18 Mile and then north onto 140th Avenue. Take 140th Avenue north to 20 Mile Road (postcard views on 140th Avenue looking west). Back on 20 Mile Road, follow this into Tustin and then into the Bristol area. You will then venture onto State Road north, across the Pine River to 48 Road to 7 ½ Road, north to M-55. Turn right on M-55 to Caberfae Road, then left (check out the Caberfae Scenic Overlook) and drive north to Boon Road in Harrietta. Turn right on Boon Road and back to Cadillac.

Color Tour Number 4 - Manton & Lake City Loop - Approximately 37 Miles
News From Cadillac -- Begin at Color Tour Headquarters, downtown Cadillac, and proceed north on Old US 131(Mitchell St.) to Boon Road. Turn east (right) on Boon Road, which becomes Seeley Road north and then Rosted east, staying on the paved road. Turn north (left) on LaChance Road, go through Jennings, and then turn west (left) on Burns Road. Turn north (right) on Seeley Road crossing M-42/Mike & Tony Road. Seeley Road then becomes 49 Road. Continue on 49 Road north to Rhoby Road and head east (turn right) on Rhoby to Brown Road. Turn south (right) on Brown Road, taking it to M-42/Walker Road. Go east (left) on M-42 to M-66 south. M-66 south will take you through Lake City and then head west on M-55 towards downtown Cadillac.
