Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail – Sips, Chips and Dips – March 18, 2017


Join the casual fun on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm as participating wineries offer everyday snacks paired with a complimentary taste of Leelanau wine.

This is a fantastic way to try lots of your favorite munchies and see how great they taste when complemented by wine. This is a free event. Just show up and enjoy the yummy fun!

Here are the 2016 simple, yet delicious, pairings.

Aurora Cellars of Lake Leelanau: Zesty Orange Crustinis topped with whipped feta cheese paired with Luminous.

Bel Lago Vineyards of Lake Leelanau: Buffalo Chicken Dip served with corn chips paired with Lot 1314 Semi-Dry Riesling

Black Star Farms of Suttons Bay: Nacho Cheese Doritos-crusted chicken nuggets with Cool Ranch Doritos dipping sauce paired with our Hard Apple Cider

Blustone Vineyards of Lake Leelanau: A unique tasting experience exploring a variety of unique flavors of Great Lakes potato chips, tortilla chips and salsa paired with Blustone wines.

Boathouse Vineyards of Lake Leelanau: 2014 Sunset, a soft red blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, whose berry flavor pairs perfectly with the butter in our lightly salted popcorn

Boyne Highlands – Ski League Championships – March 25, 2017


Get your team together one last time this season and see where you stack up against teams from all over the state. The 28th Ski League Championships is a great afternoon of team racing and camaraderie.

Teams are comprised of 7 ski racers, one of which must be a female. Race will take place on North Challenger and teams are encouraged to “tailgate” at the bottom of the slope.

Important! Each participant must show ID confirming 21 years of age or older, must read and sign their own the liability indemnification form, and pick up racing bib and T-shirt at registration.

Boyne Highlands – “Chocolate Cake” Downhill – March 26, 2017


Each year, our Boyne Highlands Downhill competition brings the thrill of World Cup-style downhill racing to Boyne Highlands. Open to all ages and ability levels, this popular annual event allows competitors to race on one of two courses – Leprechuan or Olympic – with awards for male and female winners in a variety of race classes.

Since its inception, the Boyne Highlands Downhill has built its reputation as Michigan’s premier alpine racing event, drawing competitors from throughout the region. And whether you come as a racer or a spectator, the fun goes well beyond the slopes, with demos, special events and an awards party that brings the competition’s excitement to an action-packed finish.

On-Site Registration and Bib Pick-up: Slopeside Lounge

Olympic Course Divisions

  • 50 & over, 40-49, 30-39, 19-29, 15-18, Open Class (14 & over)
  • NOTE: must be at least 14 years old on race day in order to enter Open Division

Leprechaun Course Divisions

  • 5 & under, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 50-59, 60 & over

All racers will receive a commemorative t’shirt at registration. In addition, all racers are invited to the awards party after the race where appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will also be available. All racers must pass through the start wand in order to be entered into the prize drawing at the awards party.

Participating establishments will offer their own appetizing 3 course prix-fixe dinner menus for $25. Some establishments will be offering $15 lunch specials as well.
