Bluegrass icon Béla Fleck and Chris Thile, a modern master of the mandolin and MacArthur “Genius Grant” winner, come together onstage at Interlochen for an evening of essential American bluegrass. This powerhouse performance is sure to delight music fans of all ages.
Fleck, the world’s premier banjo player, has virtually reinvented the image and the sound of the banjo through a remarkable performing and recording career that has taken him all over the musical map and on a range of solo projects and collaborations.
Multiple Grammy Award-winner and MacArthur Fellow Thile, a member of Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, is a mandolin virtuoso, composer and vocalist. He has performed at Interlochen numerous times, including the 2009 debut of a concerto he composed for mandolin and orchestra, titled Ad astra per alas porci.
Two of the world’s premier plucked-string instrumentalists collaborate in this one-of-a-kind performance.

Brandi Carlile and Old Crow Medicine Show co-headline this performance at Interlochen Center for the Arts for an evening of superlative, genre-busting music.
Since her heralded, genre-defying 2005 Columbia debut, Carlile and her indispensable collaborators, Tim and Phil Hanseroth, aka The Twins, have always offered listeners both control and abandon, often within a single song. Her latest release, The Firewatcher’s Daughter, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Americana Album.
Two-time Grammy winners Old Crow Medicine Show are members of the Grand Ole Opry and have toured the world playing renowned festivals and venues such as: Bonnaroo, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Cambridge Folk Festival, Coachella, London’s Roundhouse, the Ryman Auditorium, Barclays Center, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Fox Theater Atlanta, Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Summerstage in Central Park NYC, Forecastle, the Newport Folk Festival, and several appearances on A Prairie Home Companion.
Join these two icons of folk music for one unforgettable evening of music!
