An Evening with Jake Shimabukuro – Interlochen Arts Festival – August 2, 2016

Jake Shimabukuro’s distinct ukulele sound combines modern rock influences with traditional Hawaiian music. Virtuosic yet expressive, Jake’s repertoire ranges from “Bohemian Rhapsody” to Schubert’s “Ave Maria”.

The first ukulele artist to sign a contract with Sony, Jake gained international recognition when his cover of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” went viral on YouTube. Since then, Jake has collaborated with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Jack Johnson, Jimmy Buffett, Cyndi Lauper and Lyle Lovett and appeared on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live and a Netflix documentary, Life on Four Strings.
