Alpenfest Postponed to 2021

The safety of community members, volunteers, guests to our community, and stability of the business community was top of mind when the Alpenfest Board of Directors made the very tough decision to postpone the 2020 festival due to COVID-19 to 2021.

In 56 years, this is the first time that the festival has not taken place in the Gaylord Community. “Alpenfest may not be happening this year, but we plan to take this time to improve the festival and come out of this crisis stronger than ever for the community that we support,” said Wendie Forman Alpenfest Board President.

The board would like to thank our community members, vendors, past attendees, sponsors, and partners for their support over the years. Without the support of all these players, Alpenfest would not be possible. COVID 19 is causing unprecedented effects that are felt by many individuals and businesses.

Luckily this postponement does not have to cancel our community Alpenspirit. Perhaps wearing our lederhosen, dirndl and blumenkranz that week can remind us of that. We are a creative & resilient community. I look forward to seeing cool ways people come up with to stay connected.

Yet another knee-jerk reaction... If This virus was so bad... We would have been rotating our first responders and essential employees on a regular basis by now... Every hospital up north would be packed with suffering just from the exposed workforce... Right now... Even on lock down... I stongly disagree with this decision

I am sad that it won't happen, but I understand and appreciate leaders who prioritize our health and safety.

A very tough decision but the right one! 2021 Alpenfest will be the best. Thank you Alpenfest Board for all your hard work and dedication.

I’m sure that was a tough decision. I appreciate the efforts of the Alpenfest Board. I’m sure you’ll continue working your tails off and we’ll have a better than ever 2021 Alpenfest we can celebrate together!

Thank you for making a wise, informed, and courageous choice for the safety and well-being of all.

Thank you for your thoughtful decision. I strongly agree with it.

Thank you for the notice and to all out there thank you and stay safe please.

It's a wise decision. Sad, but smart. Everyone will miss it. I know we will. Grandkids for sure. Next year will be a celebration.

Sad news but understandable considering the times. Stay safe everyone - till next year!

you still wear your lederhosen the week that have alpine fest to should people that we still love our alpine fest. even if we can not have it. I be live that all retail should wear the alpine fest that week

As sad as that is...I respect that and life's are more important...

So sad but totally understandable! Be safe!

Such a hard decision in this time of unknowing. You done good.

Thank you for letting us know early.

Thank you for the notice. Better to be safe than sorry.

We will miss alpenfest during our vacation this year. See all of you next year. Remind me of the date for 2021?

I'll go back to fear based.

I guess I will just have to wear my lederhosen around the house for that week 🙁

😓but the right thing to do. Will miss it

No carnival either? This is so sad.

Size decision😥
