I thought it was sold out by this time last year.
From what I’ve now learned it is a half iron man. Not full iron man. Let’s do this TC! Let’s request a full for next year! Epic! Go TC 🏊🏾♀️ 🚲 🏃🏿 ! Keep up the training you can do it!
I’m seriously considering it!

With general registration opening tomorrow, let’s take a look back at the 2019 race with race director Joel Gaff... What were your favorite parts of race week in Traverse City? ... See MoreSee Less
For a first time event, 2019 was practically flawless. We appreciate the effort you & Ironman made to set a high bar😎
Hey Joel! Thanks so much for all you’ve done setting up this year’s great race, and next years as well! Any sense whether the bike course complaints are likely to lead to changes?
Awesome atmosphere and Volunteers! Also I have done 29 70.3's and Traverse city had the most challenging Bike and the best run out of all of them! I will see you next year! 🙂
OMG, volunteers and spectators are amazing and they really do get the athletes to the finish line.
I’d like to thank the medical support at the finish line who patched up my daughter after she walked into a pole while I was out on the run. 😁
Extremely well organized and awesome race! Any chance there can be enough inventory for the TC shirts and accessories? Seems like almost everything was sold out by Saturday.
Many many people (kids included) that live in my subdivision (50+) gathered at our entrance with signs, cowbells and cheered every single competitor on. More needs to be done at side roads to ensure that no cars drive on the road while bicyclists are on the road. We had to stop multiple cars and get them off the road.
Loved the bike course, spectators, empire was great, rolling start swim. Truly amazing event
I loved the rolling start for the swim. I had my fastest swim of the season they gave my group a full minute to wait to start too so we had clean and clear water not full of athletes.
I loved having so many awesome coffee shops close to the course.
As a volunteer this year, Maybe moving the food for the athletes closer to the finish line, Like the open lot next to transition. I know the farmers market is in there Saturday, but Sunday it was open.
The volunteers I came into contact with were great! I’d like to especially thank 2 of the water support volunteers Jill (SUP) & Tim (Kayak)-they were very encouraging & helpful with trying to keep swimmers on track when it was difficult to sight the buoys when swimming “into” the sun.
My eyes were a bit like that as a kayak volunteer too 😳😆
Joel, you have been a stellar race director. Thank you so much for doing all you have for the athletes! Can't wait for 2020!
I did water support and I have to say Yes, this was the cleanest water I have swam in/ Kayaked in all season. <3
I am looking forward to doing water support again next year and maybe racing in 2021.
Beautiful day ! So well organized and amazing volunteers!!! Thank you
TC was definitely the buzz race this weekend at IMCHOO, wore my gear proudly while supporting and so many people were asking about it.
Sorry. Did you discuss the run and bike courses? Will there be any changes to the routes, or simply to early to tell.
Clearest Cleanest Swim Ever. My best swim. Beautiful Bike Course.
The run was my favorite even though my PF flared up. Lots of support, shade, flat, fun, and fast.
The coke was COLD!!! So perfect!!! Great job at the aid stations for keeping it cold!
I and a bunch of friends (like 20 more) signed up for this great adventure. I can’t wait!!!
That finish probably spoiled me for all future Ironman events (it was my first). It was epic!
With the orange cones they seemed to take up a lot of space. I personally didnt feel comfortable passing if when we were 3 wide. Maybe next year use smaller cones?
