Cross Country Ski Headquarters – Mason Tract Point-to-Point Rendezvous – February 8, 2020

Cross Country Ski Headquarters - Mason Tract Point-to-Point Rendezvous
Join us in a point-to-point ski tour of our beloved local trail, the Mason Tract. This groomed (classic only) nine mile, intermediate level trail winds along an undeveloped stretch of the AuSable River.

The scenery is pristinely beautiful, and skiing through it is a quintessential Northern Michigan winter experience. We will meet at XC Ski HQ at 9:00am, then depart as a group to spot cars, and continue to the Mason Tract Trailhead to begin the adventure! Skiers can rest and refuel halfway through, where a hot lunch and bonfire await. When finished, head back to XC Ski HQ for a celebratory beer or glass of wine.

Tickets are $20 and include car spot service, lunch along the trail, and post-ski beverage of your choice. *Participants must be able to complete this 9 mile trail before 5:00pm. Lodging and dinner specials are available for participants at Gates Lodge and AuSable Riverview Resort, both located on the main branch of the Ausable River!

You thought we forgot about the Mount Snow Challenge, didn’t you??! Truthfully, we did NOT forget to note the melt date (May 24th), but because we do such a thorough digital detox in the spring, we are just now getting around to posting the contest results (we take the words “off-season” pretty seriously).
Anyway, you’re not going to believe this, but out of nearly 200 guesses, NO ONE guessed the correct date!! How is this possible?? We are in shock. If you did in fact guess May 24th and we somehow missed it, comment here and we will get you your prize. For all the rest of you, the trails are beautiful and open for hiking, biking, dog walking, and child walking all summer long. Stop in and shop, too, just call ahead to make sure we’re there. Be well and see you at the Labor Day Weekend Sale! ✌️ @ Cross Country Ski Headquarters

I was off by 3 weeks 😂 although the husky enjoyed every second of a late spring snow roll

What was the closest guess?

Are the trails open regardless if you’re there or certain hours

Happy Mother’s Day from the crew at #xcskihq! Mother Nature gifted us with a thick blanket of snow this morning... a surprising but beautiful sight (also the perfect consistency for making a snowman!). Cheers to all you moms out there - you truly make the world go round, and you are so, so loved!! @ Cross Country Ski Headquarters ... See MoreSee Less

Forty some years ago an old timer in the UP swore he’d once skied on the 4th of July. Who can say it can’t happen again!

Unbelievable! Looks awesome! 😍

Do you need me back at work?? 😂

Oh my You going to ski today? 😍
