Leland Wine and Food Festival – June 13, 2020 (Cancelled)

It’s with great disappointment that we announce that the 35th annual Leland Wine and Food Festival scheduled for Saturday, June 13th has been canceled due to circumstances surrounding Covid-19 Coronavirus. This is the first time since the festival began in 1986 that we haven’t joined together in celebration of fabulous Leelanau wines and delicious foods on the second Saturday in June, and we’re already planning on our best Wine Fest yet in 2021!

We would like to extend our gratitude to our incredible volunteer planning committee, our sponsors, local wineries, food vendors, musicians and artists who have been so understanding and supportive throughout this process, and to all of our Wine Fest attendees, many of which attend faithfully year after year!

For those of you who have already purchased your tickets, please note you can expect to see a refund in 7-14 business days.

Social distancing and shelter in place are difficult for all of us. Luckily, many area wineries who had planned to participate in the Leland Wine and Food Festival are offering special deals on shipping, offering curbside pick, hosting virtual tastings and more to ensure great wine can be had by all during these difficult times.

Leland Wine & Food Festival

The 35th annual Leland Wine & Food Fest may be on hold until next year, but you can still get some great Leelanu wine and Wine Fest glasses at The Leland Lodge today! See you for Wine Fest 2021! 🥂🥂🥂During a normal year our crew would be packing up our coolers and the smoker and heading to the Leland Harbor for Leland Wine Festival. As we all know, this is far from a normal year however, and like many things the 35th annual Leland Wine & Food Fest has been postponed until next year. That said, we’ve got a plethora of Wine Fest glasses from our sponsorships over the years so we’re hosting our own mini Wine Fest at the Lodge! Head up the hill for a flight of Leelanau County wines including Blustone Vineyards Riesling, Blackstar Farms Rosé (It’s National Rosé Day btw 💕) & Boathouse Vineyards Pinot Noir. Flights are $14 and include the glassware! Come celebrate with us and toast to Leland Wine & Food Festival 2021 - doors open at 4! 🥂 ... See MoreSee Less

Port Oneida Fair – August 9 – 10, 2019

Join us on August 9 & 10 for the 2019 Port Oneida Fair!

Each year near the beginning of August, you can take a step back in time at the Port Oneida Fair and experience life as it was in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Imagine the life of the pioneers as you help bale hay or watch a broom-maker at work. Learn about spinning, basket weaving, soap making, butter making, candle dipping, and fur trapping. Listen as park rangers and local history experts share the area’s history. Watch as teams of oxen and horses cut, load, and haul hay and artists and craftsmen demonstrate their skills.

The fair is held at 6 of the historic farmsteads in Port Oneida. Each farm has a variety of artists, crafts, food, and activities for visitors. Click on the farm names below to see what’s happening at each farm. A shuttle bus runs between the farms on a regular schedule during the fair, so you can park your car and easily get around to the different venues.

Dechow Farm
Kelderhouse Farm
Schoolhouse
Burfiend Barn
Olsen Farm
Thoreson Farm

Sky gazing will close out the two-day fair on Saturday, August 10 at the Thoreson Farm. We will be looking at the sun from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm and at the night sky from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Join park rangers and the Grand Traverse Astronomical Society (GTAS) to experience a form of recreation that has been enjoyed by many generations and continues today. GTAS members share their telescopes and knowledge while viewing Mars, Saturn, and the Perseid meteor shower. Learn about astronomy as it was in the 1900s. Remember to bring a flashlight for the walk back to your car.

Are you an artist who has created work in or of the Port Oneida area? We are always looking for submission for our Port Oneida Fair poster.

The Port Oneida Fair is presented by Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in partnership with Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear. To learn more about how you can help support the park, visit www.phsb.org.

Flea Circus (or Cirque du SoLeelanau)

Fiddler on the Woof! (Broadway theme)

In light of everyone being captive in their homes this year it should be re-cast as “The Dog Owner Parade” sponsored by the cats who will stay at home and finally get some peace!

Roxanne Werly I'll bet you could come up with a great theme and you'll have to have your babies in the parade this year 🙂

Kevin Murphy has one. "Doggy Kong." Includes all video game characters.

A Dr. Who theme would be fantastic!

Based on all of the movie watching with the family lately, I want to submit an idea: Indiana Bones: Raiders of the Lost Bark!

Disco Pawty!

Su-paw Heroes!

Mardi Paws!

Jurassic Bark 🦖 🐾

A Day in the (dog) Park.

Woofs of the loom...instead of fruit of the loom... dogs in undies... Captain Underpants

Space Dogs. Could go astronaut or alien.

A zombie theme? Armadogdon

Ford Vs Furry

Celebridogs and Pupparazzi

Dog Tired

Volks-Waggin

Jeff Anderson says Caddy Shack?

Now that’s a cute pup.

So clever!

Getting shots of cuties during the parade.

So much fun! The tag didn't work on my post but here's a photo of my happy guy.

Great job, but Marshall is spelled wrong😯

Great choice!

Her renown spans the Nation from Lake to the beaches of Virginia.
