Start at ABR Trails and “Finnish” in downtown Ironwood.
Ski among Northwoods pines, up, down and around rocky outcroppings, along the Montreal River, through the Miners Memorial Heritage Park, and by the World’s Tallest Native American Statue.
Commemorative SISU souvenirs and locally crafted age group awards. Traditional “Yooper” fare and local entertainment. A big event with small town ambiance.

New XC ski team coming to Ironwood! Looking for athletes! Looking for a coach!
The proposed coed nordic ski coach will be a stipend position. The stipend assumes six months of regular contact with student-athletes with a competitive season of October through March. The position will also provide candidates the option to reside in our campus suites at no cost should the ideal candidate prefer that accommodation. We’ll meet at Iron Fish Distillery at 11am and ride to Crystal Mountain to complete a few laps on the Fat Chance race course. After, we’ll ride back to Iron Fish Distillery for food and drink specials!
Cost: No charge for the pre-ride unless you need to rent a Fat Tire bike (2-hour rental is $25). Food and drink specials at Iron Fish are extra.

Crystal Mountain will host the Liberty Mutual Insurance NASTAR Midwest Championships on February 29 – March 1, 2020. The winners will be awarded prize money for the first time in NASTAR regional championships history!
The two-day event will see the fastest racers in each age, gender and ability group from Saturday’s qualifying races advance to the Race of Champions on Sunday. This dual head-to-head handicapped race will be a single-elimination event with the final four racers in the men’s and women’s races splitting a share of the $5,000* cash purse. Afterwards, the ever poplular Friends and Family Team Race will take place. The Liberty Mutual Insurance NASTAR Midwest Regional Championships are open to all recreational racers and no qualification is required.
*Prize money is dependent on number of entries. Must have over 130 entries for the full prize purse.
Event includes celebrity pacesetter, Andrew Weibrecht, live music, parties and fun racing! Discounted lodging and lift tickets are available to NASTAR participants and guests.
Cost: $125 per racer (includes all weekend events)
Registration:Opens December 1, 2019 (limited to 500 participants).
