Since its inaugural event in 1948, the Annual Lilac Festival on Mackinac Island has grown into a 10-day festival held in honor of the flower for which the Island is renowned. The lilac is a spectacular variety with a distinct history. In fact, some are more than 200 years old. The annual parade begins Sunday June 16th at 4:00pm so we recommend adding Sunday night to your weekend at a discounted rate.

The Mackinac Island Lilac Festival is a 10-day celebration, June 7 through 16, 2024.
It’s the first and largest summer event on the Island, attracting thousands of visitors. Festivities for the 75th Annual Mackinac Island Lilac Festival include the coronation of the Lilac Festival Queen and Court, Lilac Festival 10K Run/Walk, horse drawn carriage tours, the Lilac Festival Grand Parade and much more.
