Grand Hotel

After a lovely 3 day weekend, the pool closes for the season and we turn to bike rides and rounds on the green in the crisp fall air.

Even better? We will be renovating the pool during the offseason this year. You know what they say, when one door closes, another bigger, better era of the Esther Williams pool opens!

Comment on Facebook After a lovely 3 day...

So sad to see the changes going on, that are not for the better. Slimming down the dinner menus, putting a big slide in that historic pool. Not returning Carlton Varney personal possessions. I'm worried about a corporation taking over, with no appreciation for the traditions they've inherited. This hotel was grand, hopefully it stays that way. Not sure that will be the case when they are done with the changes they are making.

The previous owners had it open throughout the full season. Typical of new owners. ☹️☹️

Can't wait to see the pool next summer!

Visiting in a week... are you still able to swim like in years past but with no heat???

Bring back the Worm and we’ll really be getting somewhere.

Don't change too much! We love it the way it is.

Looks like they enjoyed themselves.

Do they still have the Winsome Womens retreat there?

Happy to be visiting this October for a 2 night stay! Hoping fall colors will be at peak! 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍃🍁

Nice to solar heat it.

I can’t wait to see it !😎

Sweet !

Comment on Facebook Eyes on the weekend ...

I’m looking forward to our annual Somewhere in Time weekend in October. We all love dressing for high tea and the wonderful dinners. It’s an elegant step back in time with live music in the lobby, the band after dinner and the final Grand Promenade on Saturday evening.❤️

First Labor Day weekend we will miss at the Grand in 34 years. Maybe the Yellow Jackets can come next year with some other new acts.

Hello there! I am trying to get a hold of someone at the hotel for a favor. I have sent an inbox message.

Where is our complimentary coffee?

Hope to be there soon !

How far in advance can you book reservations?

Lucky

They have phones

Don't waste your time or hard earned money. The hotel has hit rock bottom. Their adds on the radio are filled with lies and are very deceiving. The prices for a drink on the porch have sky rocket with no top shelf liquor. The rooms are filthy and disgusting, no amenities offered. Service in the dining room is sub standard and the foods inedible. There are NO lawn games as advertised and you have to buy "complimentary" coffee in the morning. The sandwiches at Grand provisions and coffee have sat in the fridge for days the bread is soggy and disgusting. You have to call at least 3 times to get more towels and cross your fingers that your luggage gets sent to the proper ferry dock. And when you check out look over your room.chrges because they try to charge you for eating breakfast and dinner in the dining room.

Sounds charming , love dinning in their beautiful dining room.

My girls enjoyed the milk pouring from the servers there. Loved being there last summer

Will see you Tuesday!! Dressing up for dinner is so much fun! ❤️Denise

Love dressing up for dinner! The food & service is outstanding! Check out their great packages in October!

Dined inside on Tuesday! Believe me, the Dining Room is big enough to social distance. BTW, the trio was great! (Admittedly we had breakfast in our Cupola Suite each morning!)

It truly is a dining experience not just " dinner" ! ! ! We love the ambiance that dressing up creates 💕

Just got home tonight from another amazing few days with the family at The Grand 😍

Can’t wait! Having surgery in September so my trip in October is getting me through this! Can’t wait for those dinners!

Loved every moment. ❤️. Oh that Pecan Ball dessert !

Is inside dining allowed? Not here in California. Only takeout or outside dining.

What is it like for Halloween at the Grand?? Do people wear costumes?

Just nothing else like it! A wonderful experience! ❤️❤️❤️

Just stayed there. Love Ted everything but especially the horses.

Can't wait for 9/9 to begin my 6 night stay!!!

Booked for two nights the end of September. Can’t wait to dress up😊

Don't worry they don't enforce the dress code any more...... jeans and a t-shirt are now considered formal attire......just got back from our annual trip. Just stating what was observed and allowed.

Love the Grand!! ❤️❤️❤️

Bow tie reminds me of governor Soapy Williams.

Do you have to pay $10 if you eat in the ballroom?

Yes it is! Wonderful experience!

Dining at TheGrand Hotel really is such an experience ♥️

Yes, Today is National Bow Tie Day.

Almost there!

Had a wonderful time visiting the Woods Restaurant last August with my 3 eldest granddaughters! Food and service was lovely.

Loved our ride to eat here and the food/ service was excellent

I love Mackinac. Our trip a couple of years was wonderful. We plan on going back next year. A beautiful place.

Been there a couple of times. Love this restaurant’s ambiance and food. And love the carriage ride to it. Can’t wait to go there on my next visit.

We had dinner there last Monday! Excellent meal and service! Worth the trip through the woods!

What a memorable meal and such excellent service at #woodsresturant!

It was a wonderful meal and experience. Went back in mid July.

Loved the wooded ride to this restaurant and then the interior decor of the restaurant itself.

It's a Perfect place to spend an evening. Fabulous food and service!

It feels magical riding there, such a neat experience.

Can't visit the island without having at least one meal at the Woods. Love that place.

We were there to celebrate shared anniversaries with friends. Wonderful meals and accommodating service!

Excellent food! Of course.

How do you get there from the Grand Hotel???

Our favorite!

A wonderful dinner with my 3 beautiful children. July 2020

And the manager is pretty cool as well. 🙂

Nice break for lunch while playing golf there last year. Club Sandwich was AWESOME!!

Always the best.

We'll be there this Sunday on my birthday!

One of the best on the island.

My favorite restaurant, anywhere. My wife and I have eaten here on many occasions, our first being our honeymoon, 25 years ago. We returned annually for several years, then, most recently, celebrated our 20th anniversary here. Food and service have always been fantastic and we have always felt warm and welcomed. We can't wait to get back. We missed our 25th this year because of COVID- but hopefully we can return soon.

Must do this when we come

Love Woods!

Staying in September ♥️
