Crystal Mountain ~ Iron Fish Distillery Fat Chance Fat Tire Bike Race ~ January 27, 2024

Iron Fish Distillery Fat Chance Fat Tire Bike Race

Fat Chance is the staple of fat biking in Northern Michigan, and is back again for another legendary race at Crystal Mountain with new and familiar faces.

We return to the new course we featured last year at our new Cross-Country Center. The course will offer 360 degree viewing for spectators. The 90-minute race will have single sections to break up the pack and add some excitement to the race! Helmets are required for rider safety.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the 2023 race due to weather conditions, so this is everyone’s chance for redemption! Even if Mother Nature doesn’t deliver… we have a plan B, so this race is happening rain or shine, snow or dirt.

All races start at 9am.

Registration

All registration includes chip timing, race bib, and a coupon for a post-ride beverage and chili or soup.

Early Bird Registration (November 12 – 26, 2023): $40 per rider.
Cost goes up to $50 beginning November 27, 2023. Day-of registration is not available.

Online registration will close at Noon on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Registration Opens November 12 »

Packet pick-up will be held beginning at 3pm at the Park at Water’s Edge on Friday, January 26, 2024.  See Resort Map »

Cash Prizes, Medals & Awards

A cash prize and medal will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each 90-minute category. Plus there will be plenty of swag from Crystal Mountain, Iron Fish , and Kona Bikes . Awards, medals and swag can be picked up at the Park at Water’s Edge on the day-of the race or will be mailed to racers.
